This emergent findings report for New Ireland Province is part of the Baseline Assessment of Resource Governance and Development Impacts for the Australia Papua New Guinea Economic Partnership (APEP)’s Sustainable Governance of Natural Resource Wealth Pillar.
The report is an interim report which provides preliminary high-level findings and a fieldwork summary for baseline activities carried out in New Ireland Province between 4 and 22 March 2024. It outlines emergent findings for the Resource Governance Instrument, Capacity Development Assessment, Disability Assessment and Digital Storytelling Methodology. A data collection summary, training summary and detailed fieldwork logistics report are also attached in the Appendix.
The analysis within this report should not be treated as final or complete. The final report for the Baseline Assessment is the PNG Perceptions of Resource Governance and Development Impacts Report.
This emergent findings report was prepared by Square Circle Global Development for Abt Global. Square Circle worked in partnership with Tanorama Limited to complete fieldwork to collect data for the Baseline. Tanorama also provided the reporting inputs on the Capacity Development Assessment, Disability Assessment and Fieldwork and Logistics.
